Thousands of our neighbors are faced with a difficult choice to temporarily or permanently relocate during redevelopment of their neighborhoods over a ten year period.

Residents in these homes lack a robust digital communications strategy and capability to effectively communicate with City of Norfolk and Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority.

We are seeking 2-4 Community Fellowswho will work directly with residents, City of Norfolk, and NRHA to develop these capabilities.

We are especially seeking individuals who are representative of the community to become fellows.

These are a paid, temporary (6 months) positions with full and part time availability.

Prior experience in software, programming, product management, user experience, digital communications, or social media are desired.

We will train with demonstrated aptitude and enthusiasm.

Who is representative of the community?

There is not a strict definition or requirement. However, we think good qualities include one or more of: Currently or formerly in NRHA housing, family in NRHA housing, lives/lived in public housing elsewhere, currently or formerly experiencing housing and mobility insecurity, currently or formerly experiencing poverty, currently or formerly working in the St. Paul’s community, perhaps as a case manager or other professional social service provider.
